Meet the Board

Rakia Lewis is a humanitarian and native of Penns Grove, NJ and has lived in Delaware since 1991. She is the Founder and CEO of Phenomenal Women Of Delaware, Inc. They are a group of women who have become the change they want to see in communities. Rakia is also a Troop Leader for Girl Scout Troop 339 that operates from Rosehill Community Center where she also teaches healthy food choices and cooking classes to the youth. Her cultural background and focus on community collaboration has led her to a number of volunteer opportunities and community leadership roles. She worked as a chef previously at the University and Whist Club of Wilmington for over 10 yrs. and will be completing her studies in Culinary. Rakia's reasons for service is to help those needs of people in crisis of one kind or another, serving the under served, and inspiring the next generation.

Porsha Harvey is a loving mother, attentive student, natural leader and passionate social work/mental health professional. In her current role she provides case management services to individuals in need of emergency assistance. Porsha has also served as a Vocational counselor assisting individuals with disabilities secure gainful employment. Working in children and family counseling, to improve overall mental health and functioning has been the most rewarding role for Porsha. When it is time to serve Porsha is always willing to dedicate her time and energy to help. A great passion of hers is providing information, resources, and referrals to connect individuals in need with the services that are available. Porsha received her BS in Rehabilitation Services from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. During this time her knowledge and passion for health, human, and social services grew.
